The Saudi Society for Internal Auditors held its general assembly on Tuesday 16/7/2013, at the premises of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, in Riyadh.
The meeting has been chaired by the Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. TAWFIG FAWZAN ALRABIAH, who is also the Chairman of society.
Endorsing the report of the board covering the period up to the end of 2012, topped the agenda and included approving financial statements on 31/12/2012, appointing an auditor for the society's accounts, fix his payment and other issues that may arise.
It is noteworthy, that the Saudi Internal auditors Society has been established, in accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers no. 84, dated 28/02/2011, as a professional society with independent artificial personality, under the supervision of MCI and aims to develop internal audit profession, in the Kingdom.
The event falls in line with the Kingdom's efforts exerted to revamp and re-activate the regulatory role on facilities and coping with comprehensive advancement witnessed in the Kingdom, as the hope is that the society would, effectively, contribute in promoting transparency and enhancing of performance in different establishment and to become a main tributary to develop specialized professional capable cadres, in the field of internal audit.
