The Ministry of Commerce and Industry had destroyed 24 thousand rotten food commodities in Medina

MCI also confiscated more than 3,000 fake and counterfeit electrical devices and some products in violation of the Islamic law
 
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry destroyed more than 24 thousand rotten and expired food items in Medina which represent a risk to the health of the consumer, and violators were called for necessary investigation at the Ministry's Headquarters .

The confiscation and destruction of such items came after the MCI inspection teams had intensified their field tours on  shops and commercial markets due to the presence of large numbers of visitors to the Prophet 's Mosque after the end of the pilgrimage season this year 1434 AH .

MCI had also continued its sudden inspection campaigns on shops specialized in selling electrical and electronic devices, and mobile phones, where 3277 counterfeit products had been held and confiscated including electrical tools,  connections , plugs  , and Chargers not conforming with the Saudi standards and specifications .
MCI had withdrawn a number of products in violation of the Islamic law, which symbolize to other religions , or to Satanists in addition to withdrawing a number of other consuming products which had been sent to laboratories to ensure compliance with the Saudi specifications and quality .

MCI inspection teams focused on  the safety of food offered in the markets of Medina, and the quality of consumer goods  and the confiscation and destruction of the corrupted and bad ones, to ensure that the consumers and the visitors of the prophet`s mosque  are not affected, and to apply the regulations against violators.

MCI stresses that it will not tolerate with those touting fake or counterfeit goods, particularly that threaten the health and safety of the consumer and it will apply the right legal penalties .

It also emphasizes its continued inspection tours on markets, warehouses, shops, factories and all commercial establishments, to ensure their  regular work .
