The Ministry of Commerce Branch in Qassim Region conducted this month 8,162 inspection visits in warehouses, markets, and retail outlets across cities, governorates, and villages.
The visits ensured that sufficient quantities of foodstuffs, supplies, and staple food are available to meet consumer demand during the holy month of Ramadan. Inspectors made sure that businesses and outlets are in compliance with the ministry's regulations and precautionary measures.
During the check visits, 235 violations were issued on the spot to a number of outlets in accordance with the penalties stipulated for breaching the Ministry of Commerce's regulations and violations of precautionary measures.
The inspection visits revealed availability of essential commodities and consumer products as well as their substitutes. This includes, in particular, goods and products that consumers can purchase during the holy month of Ramadan.
