MCI shut down a warehouse storing counterfeit spare parts in Al Manakh quarter in Riyadh. The inspectors monitored packing the parts, made in China, in boxes bearing famous trademarks, then to be distributed in the local markets, and thus cheating the consumers by claiming that they are original and of high quality, consequently 200 thousand auto parts were seized, while those responsible were summoned by MCI for investigation and taking the legal procedures against them.

The details go back when MCI inspection teams, with the cooperation and coordination of the joint security campaigns, carried out inspection tours and detected a store and a warehouse, where the original auto parts were offered in the store, while the counterfeit ones used to be packed and stored in a separate warehouse out of sight.

The seizure included 200 thousand pieces of counterfeit oil and air filters for famous brands, such as "Toyota", "Nissan", "Hyundai", "BMW", "Audi", "Mercedes" and others, besides 180 thousand pieces of empty containers and plastic covers intended for fraud and counterfeiting process, also a truck was seized, loaded with large quantities of counterfeit parts to be distributed in the local market. 

This comes at a time when MCI has been carrying on inspection tours on warehouses and commercial facilities, to verify their regular operation, and to ensure the absence of fraud and manipulation practices on consumers, and to eradicate the supply of counterfeit and substandard products in the market.

MCI will not hesitate to impose legal penalties on offenders and all that puts the health and safety of consumers at risk.
