Seeks to Confront the Barriers and Obstacles of Producers and Exporters in Various Industries
MCI invites the producers and those interested in the world trade to participate in the workshop related to the Conventions of Technical Barriers on Trade (TBT) and Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS), within the framework of the World Trade Organization, to be held in Riyadh during the period 16-18 Muharram 1436 AH, corresponding to 9 - 11 November 2014 AD. The said workshop will focus on many different Regulations, Standards and Tests that aim to maintain the sanitary of human, animal and plant and the environment of each country, and which may stand as a barrier to producers and exporters in various industries.
It is scheduled that the seminars will highlight the idea that the Regulations, Standards and Tests should not constitute any unnecessary obstacles to exporters and producers, while the convention aims at acquiring the right to implement the Regulations, Standards and Measures to achieve the objectives of human and plant sanitary protection, as well as the safety and the environment.
The Ministry confirms its commitment to raise awareness and knowledge about the above mentioned conventions, as they have a major impact on the sanitary protection of human, animal and plant, as well as the local environment. MCI would take the best ways to do so without prejudice to the obligations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding the World Trade Conventions, in addition to keeping the producers and exporters informed about the Regulations, Standards and Tests required for their goods to enter the world markets without any barriers or obstacles.
