MCI Arrested Illegal Labors running a Goldsmith Workshop in Jeddah, 300 kilograms of Goldsmiths Seized

The Owner and the Illegal Labors were referred to the Public Prosecution for Taking Legal Measures
 
MCI Judicial Officers had arrested illegal labors who had hired a house in Al Kandara neighborhood, south of Jeddah, and ran it as unlicensed workshop for goldsmithing. Seven illegal labors of Asian nationality had been practicing this activity without a commercial registration or a precious metal license, in addition to the lack of a trademark or a stamp for such goldsmiths.

MCI inspection teams have seized 300 kilograms of goldsmiths, samples are taken for examination in specialized laboratories, the workshop has been shut down, the owner and the illegal labors are referred to the Public Prosecution for taking the legal measures, and then they will be referred to the judicial authority for imposing the necessary penalties in accordance with the Precious Metals and Gemstone Law.
 
The Ministry of Commerce and Investment would like to stress the importance of obtaining the necessary licenses to practice any commercial activities by all institutions. MCI calls on all citizens and residents in all regions of the Kingdom to report any violations through the Ministry's Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry's website.
