MCI Inspection Teams at the Eastern Region Carried out more than 790 Inspection Rounds in two days, to Verify and follow up the Continuity and Flow of Food Supplies to Consumers

25 Mar 2020

During the past two days, MCI inspection teams at the Eastern Region had carried out 790 inspection tours on the shops and institutions exempted from the curfew. The inspection tours included, groceries, hypermarkets, vegetable and fruit stores, poultry, fish and meat shops, bakeries, and gas stations. This is to ensure the continuity and flow of food supplies to the consumers.

The Ministry of Commerce confirmed that the work in these facilities is running smoothly, in terms of the availability and abundance of goods, and the necessary food supplies to the consumers.

Notably, the consumers can use the electronic applications for food delivery during the period of curfew. They can order whatever they like of foodstuffs and consumables through these e-applications.

The Ministry of Commerce urges all citizens and residents to use the electronic food delivery applications for ordering all their food supplies and consumables during the period of permitting roaming as well, and not to leave their houses except for the extreme necessity. This is to preserve their health and safety, and this is in compliance with the wise leadership instructions and orders.

The Ministry of Commerce also continues to receive the consumers’ complaints and report round the clock through MCI Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry’s website.
