Dr. Ghassan bin Ahmed Al-Sulaiman, Advisor of the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Governor of the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises, expressed his deepest thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for being appointed as an advisor at the Ministry of Commerce and Investment, in addition to his job as Governor of SMEs.
Dr. Sulaiman appreciated the kind support and assistance of the wise leadership to SMEs sector, which contributes to the development and improvement of the investment environment, as well as enabling, supporting and stimulating this vital sector to participate effectively in raising the gross domestic product (GDP), in order to realize the strategic objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
H.E. Dr. Al Sulaiman emphasizes the strive to develop the economic environment of the SME sector, as well as to support and stimulate the small investors and entrepreneurs, also contributing to the diversification of the National Economy, besides building a strong economic base and creating job opportunities for citizens, thus promoting and enhancing the Kingdom’s trade and investment rank on all regional and international levels.
H.E. Dr. Sulaiman is a National Competency, having wide experience in heading a number of Board of Directors of various companies, such as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ghassan Ahmed Al Sulaiman Group & Partners, and Ghassan Ahmed Al Sulaiman Furniture Trading Co. Ltd. (IKEA), Fincher Capital Bank - Bahrain, Fincher Capital Saudi Arabia, Downtown Development Company, Entities Co., Rama Development Company (Marina), and Qatouf Entrepreneurship for Enterprises Development Co.
H.E. Dr. Al Sulaiman holds a PhD in Strategic Management from the UK, and MBA from the United States of America, in addition to his previous job as a lecturer in Strategic Management at the University of Maastricht, MBA program.
H.E. Dr. Ghassan has a wide practical experience, including his membership in a number of boards of directors of several companies, such as Arab Cement Company, Al Maghraby Hospitals & Centers Company, Advisory Board of Takamul Holding Company, belonging to the Ministry of Labor, besides his membership in a number of non-profit organizations.
H. E. Dr. Ghassan had got previous posts and membership in a number of various sectors, such as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Savola Foods Company, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SME Center of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Economic Development Committee in Makkah Region, Chairman of the Board of Directors for organizing Jeddah International Economic Forum, Chairman of the Saudi-Malaysian and Saudi-Turkish Business Councils, Member of the Board of Directors of the International Commission for New Muslims, and Member of the Board of Directors of the World Organization for Quran Memorization.
