The National Program for Combating the Commercial Concealment has obliged all Groceries and Supply Shops to Provide E-Payment System

​In cooperation with the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the National Program for Combating the Commercial Concealment has announced that all groceries and supply shops are obliged to provide e-payment system as from May 10, 2020.

The application of e-payment system on groceries and supply shops comes within the Ministry’s efforts to enable the consumers to use this method in all sales outlets and to reduce the circulation of cash.

This decision comes also in line with the precautionary steps and measures recommended by the competent health authorities to combat the emerging corona virus (Covid-19), and for the safety of citizens and residents.

It is worth mentioning that the National Program for Combating the Commercial Concealment had already obliged using the e-payment system gradually for all retail sector activities.
