MCI inspection teams have confiscated 30 thousand counterfeit electric pieces in the markets of Jeddah

As continuation of the comprehensive inspection  campaigns in various regions of the Kingdom

 
MCI had confiscated more than 30 thousand imitative and counterfeit electric pieces that may cause a threat to the safety of consumers, in the southern market in Jeddah, displayed in a number of shops and complexes  of  tools and electrical appliances. This is as part of MCI campaign on high-risk goods such as electrical connections and chargers.
 
That came after a sudden tours conducted by the supervisory teams of the Ministry, which resulted in the seizure and confiscation of large quantities of connections, electrical transformers and plugs contrary to the standards and specifications, in order to avoid any harm and to ensure the safety of the consumers. 
 
 The confiscated items  included  19 thousand  pieces of electrical multi-use plugs, more than 6 thousand electrical connections , in addition to the confiscation of 5 thousand  electrical transformers  , more than 500 imitative home mobile chargers.
 
It is worth mentioning that MCI  has  recently implemented a comprehensive campaign on the markets through its branches in the various regions of the Kingdom to confiscate imitative and counterfeit electrical materials and auto parts.  Large quantities were seized and confiscated of those  pieces and then destroyed , with the closing of the involved  shops  and the owners were summoned for investigation.
 
MCI stresses that it would not tolerate with the violators and those involved in the practice of fraud, and the sale of counterfeit and adulterated goods and all that put the health and safety of consumers at risk.
 
MCI also emphasizes that the inspection  rounds will be continued  on the markets , warehouses, shops , and factories , to ensure their regular work, and to ensure the absence of fraud  practices on the consumers, and to stop the  exploitation of the demand for purchase in selling and marketing  counterfeit or adulterated goods .
