The Ministry of Commerce and Investment has issued Business Licensing Guide, which includes the licensing requirements and procedures for 274 business activities, supervised by 26 government authorities that have direct relation of issuing the relevant Commercial Registration for such activities.
Primarily, the Business Licensing Guide documents and shows all procedures, requirements and facilities for doing business. This Guide will be updated constantly to accommodate all trading activities and any new developments in this field, in addition to organizing, developing and updating a number of governmental procedures, besides reducing and easing some of them through Improving Business Performance Committee (Tayseer). This is to ensure the integration among different government agencies in a very smart way.
The next phase will include launching a version of the guide in a smart electronic interactive way, within the initiative of "Merass" launched by the said Committee recently. The Guide will be linked to this initiative directly. MCI works with this guide in coordination with other government agencies to ensure the accuracy of the procedures and to show all the requirements needed by such authorities.
B. L. Guide, supervised by the Executive Committee for Improving Business Performance at the private sector, chaired by H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, and the National Program for Competitiveness Promotion (CAP), which is one of MCI System initiatives under the National Transformation Program, paves the ways to stimulate investment and to promote business and productions in line with the economic policies adopted by the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program 2020.
H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi explained that the Business Licensing Guide, which shows the needed requirements and procedures, comes in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the on-going work of all government agencies to achieve and realize this vision. H.E. pointed out that the positive transformation effects resulting from the vision will be reflected on the government agencies, the national economy and the Saudi society in the near future. This is because of the fruitful integration among the government agencies that look forward to a brighter and sustainable future.
H.E. Dr. Al Qassabi added "To create a competitive economy in the 21st century, we need to change the way we do business. Trade needs to be easier, faster and more efficient to support the economic system, which needs to be supported as well by investment, knowledge and the competitiveness of the human capital. As for the government agencies, they could realize the factors that they can develop and activate to help practicing and doing business. "
In addition to the services provided by the Ministries, the guide also highlights the licensing mechanism for getting the services provided by various government bodies and institutions.
