H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment Heads a Saudi Delegation, Comprising a Number of Government Authorities and Businessmen, to Kenya and Djibouti

​His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qassabi, heads a Saudi delegation including various government authorities and businessmen to visit the Republics of Kenya and Djibouti for two days starting on Tuesday 11.04.2017 AD.
 
This visit aims to enhance and strengthen the relations with these two countries, as well as to raise the level of trade exchange, also to search for investment opportunities in various sectors, in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. During the visit, the delegation will discuss opening up marketing outlets for Saudi products in both countries, also to have access to the markets of neighboring African countries, besides discussing the idea of establishing joint business council , as well as the exchange of expertise in the field of consumer protection and laboratories, also relevant cooperation in combating commercial fraud and counterfeiting, relevant to the exported goods, more than that discussing the opening of maritime lines with the Djibouti side, in addition to a number of topics on the agenda.
 
This visit will witness holding a business forum in both countries, attended by H.E. the Minister and senior officials in Kenya and Djibouti, during which presentations on the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 will be displayed, as well as signing several agreements and memorandums of understanding.
 
During this visit, H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qassabi, will meet with the President of the Republic of Kenya, Ohro Kinata, and the President of the Republic of Djibouti Ismail Omar Gilah, and a number of ministers and government officials of the two countries, to discuss ways of enhancing trade and investment relations between the Kingdom and the Republics of Kenya and Djibouti.
 
The Saudi delegation includes representatives from the Ministries of Finance, Defense, Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, Environment, Water and Agriculture, Transport, Foreign Affairs, Economy and Planning, Public Investment Fund, Saudi Export Development Authority, Council of Saudi Chambers, the Saudi Development Fund, Industrial Development Fund, the General Organization of Seaports, The General Organization of Saudi Arabian Airlines, and SABIC Company.
 
It is worth mentioning that the volume of trade exchange between the Kingdom and Kenya amounted to 3119 million riyals during 2015, while the volume of trade exchange between the Kingdom and Djibouti during the same year reached 3109 million riyals.
