During One Month, the Ministry of Commerce Carried out 75.000 Inspection Tours and released more than 8,600 Violation Notices

During the period from 07 March to 08 April, MC inspection teams carried out 75.000 inspection tours on commercial establishments in all regions of the Kingdom, to ensure the continuity of their work in providing food supplies and services to the consumers, also to monitor and follow up the abundance of foodstuffs, as well as to verify the commitment with to consumer’s protection regulations.

MC inspection tours aimed at intensifying control over wholesale markets, food stores and warehouses, products and consumable outlets, including groceries, hypermarkets, meat and fish stores, vegetable and fruit markets,  bakeries, and gas stations, during which more than 8,600 violation notices were released, 46% of which were excessive price violations. Consequently, instant fines were imposed against the violators.

The Ministry of Commerce confirmed that the work in these facilities is running naturally and smoothly, in terms of the availability of products and sufficient stock, as well as the flow of food supplies and consumables.

The Ministry of Commerce would like to stress and advise all consumers about the importance of having balanced consumption of all commodities, and to avoid wasting and purchasing quantities excessively and over their need.

The Ministry of Commerce continues to receive reports and complaints round the clock through MC Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry’s website.
