MCI inspection teams received a tip, and after carrying out the necessary investigation, they arrested illegal labors from Asian nationality. They used a traditional house in Al-Qunfudhah province for making goldsmiths. Material evidences, documents, stamps and sums of money were seized. This shows that there is a suspected case of commercial concealment.

A quantity of gold crafts, ready for sale, was seized as well. Some samples were sent to the laboratories to verify the calibration.

MCI has shut down the illegal site and summoned all the parties for further investigation, in preparation for referring the case to the Public Prosecution and then to the judiciary for taking the legal measures against the violators, in accordance with the precious metals and gemstones regulations and the Anti-Commercial Concealment Law.

The Ministry of Commerce and Investment stresses that all the trade activities should be official and legal and all trade activities should be licensed.

MCI urges the consumers to report any cases of commercial concealment, if the evidence is found, through MCI Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry's website. Notably, MCI grants an award up to 30% of the value of the sentenced fines to the informer, after collection. Notably, the fine may reach SR one million for each violator.
