MCI has warned installments' tradesmen of asking or receiving cheques from buyers, as a guarantee for payment, because such an action runs against the law.
Accordingly, the law punishes the offending issuer of the cheque and the beneficiary, alike, either by a 3-Year in prison and/or a financial fine up to SR 50,000 and/or defamation (in public).
