MCI has doubled the Validity of the Customs Exemption
MCI has agreed to modify the validity of customs exemption for the industrial institutions, from 6 months to 12 months. This is to facilitate the procedures for the owners of the industrial institutions, and to reduce the large number of requests, asking for the amendment of validity, coming to the committee of considering the customs exemption, in coordination and cooperation with the General Customs Department.
The old procedures and controls for requesting the customs exemption for raw materials and those half-manufactured, the equipment and machines needed for production, as well as spare parts used in the industrial institutions, had taken into account the period of validity to be for 6 months as from the start of the Ministerial Decree approving the exemption of the customs duties.
This comes at a time when the Ministry of Commerce and Industry confirms its Permanent commitment and interest to facilitate the organizational measures to improve the industrial environment and to contribute in attracting the industrial investments and their resettlement in the Kingdom.
