MCI has, recently, seized or destroyed more than 32,000 non-conformed specimen of, notably, vehicles' oils and some electrical connects and appliances, pointing that investigation is proceeding to complete imposing applicable rules against the offenders, in accordance with the Regulation of Anti- Fraud.
In a press statement, MCI pointed out that, in collaboration with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), has carried out a number of joint in-field check-up tours, which led to examine more than 1384 specimen of various commodities, to verify their conformity to Saud standards, anti-fraud and commercial statements' regulations, applied on imports as well as locally manufactured commodities.
Such joint checkup tours, made by MCI anti-fraud teams, in collaboration with SASO experts, in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam will, extensively, proceed on to cover all commodities at avail in the markets, to guarantee conformity to the established standards and norms, otherwise, non-conformed commodities will be withdrawn and confiscated, in order to limit the supply of non-conformed and counterfeit commodities.
