Minister of Commerce Meets U.S. Counterpart

On the sidelines of Saudi-U.S. Business Opportunities' Forum, in Washington
 
Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. TAWFIG FAWZAN ALRABIAH met with his U.S. counterpart Penny Pritzker, on the sidelines of the 3rd Saudi-American business forum, taking place nowadays, in Los Angeles, California, on 16-18 Sept.
 
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral commercial as well as industrial relations between the two friendly countries, means to promote and enhance them and how to take advantage of the opportunities and benefits, at avail, in addition to boost commercial and industrial cooperation, via encouraging the private sectors, in the two countries, alike, to establish joint commercial and industrial enterprises and ventures.
 
 Noteworthy, the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries stood at SR 18378, in 2012, while Saudi exports worth SR 1322, the Kingdom imports recorded SR 17056.
 
On the other hand, a lot of prominent personalities from governmental as well as the private sectors, have taken part in this high-profile event, in regard to these two countries bilateral  economic domain. 
 
The event follows similar successful previous forums, organized by MCI, in the Belgium, Japan and France, in the context of developing economic and investment ties between the Kingdom and its countries it established friendly relations and bound to them with commercial exchange ties.
 
The forum was organized under the auspices of the MCI and U.S. Commerce Department, in collaboration with Commerce International Committee (CIT), Saudi-American Business Forum and the Saudi-U.S. Trade Group (SUSTG).
 
The meeting has been attended by the Acting Deputy Ministry of MCI for External Trade Dr. Fahd bin Ahmed Abu Haimid, MCI Acting Deputy Ministry​ for Industrial Affairs Eng. Walid Abu Khalid, Advisor to the Minister Majdi Al-Sahaf and Washington-based Saudi Commercial Attache Adil Al-Mubarak.
