These spare parts which carry famous brand names were destructed and investigation was carried out with the owners.
The control teams at MCI raided a number of shops in Taif specialized in selling spare parts , resulted in the seizure and confiscation of large numbers of counterfeit parts , which carry famous brands , to delude the consumer of their quality.
The seizure came after the Ministry had carried out inspection tours on the spare parts stores in a number of locations in Taif to make sure of the quality of the spares on display , and they are in compliance with the Saudi standards and specifications , as well as respond to the reports from consumers regarding some shops.
The spares which were destroyed later include : shock absorbers , suspensions , brake pads., brakes, bearings, gasoline filters , clutch repair kits, petrol pumps , gasoline Strainers and oil filters.
During the inspection tour, it has been found out that there are a number of warehouses in violation , which work to store large quantities of counterfeit parts . The owners were called for investigations and applying the proper regulations against them .
It is worth mentioning that MCI has recently carried out a comprehensive campaign on markets through its branches in the Kingdom to confiscate fake and imitative electric appliances. Large quantities of those appliances were seized and destroyed with the closing of violated shops , and calling those involved for investigation.
MCI stresses that it will not tolerate touting fake or counterfeit goods , particularly that threaten the health and safety of the consumer and it will apply the right official penalties.
MCI also emphasizes that it will continue the inspection tours on markets , warehouses , shops, factories and all commercial establishments, to ensure regular work .
