MCI Warns of Suspiciously Bacteria-Contaminated Baby Milk, Urging Consumers to Check the Package and Identification Number before Use

09 Aug 2013
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) warns the citizens that it has recorded a large amount of suspiciously bacteria-contaminated baby milk (Similac Gain Plus) in the local markets after receiving reports from citizens via MCI Consumer's Reports Center. After investigation, it was clear that such suspected products have already penetrated into the markets through the certified distributors.

This step comes after the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has warned that some baby milk products may be contaminated with bacteria, and that all the affected products were recorded, adding “The SFDA has made sure that the markets are currently free of such products.”

Meanwhile, the SFDA has warned consumers against purchasing the products, whose data are mentioned below; pointing out that the consumers must inform the Consumers' Reports Centers immediately via the number: 8001241616.
