MCI prevented a truck from delivering 40 thousand of corrupted foodstuffs to the warehouses in Zulfi

MCI had​ detected a truck coming from Dammam in the late hours of the night carrying more than 40 thousand of corrupted foodstuffs to be delivered to the markets of Zulfi.

The truck was stopped and the foodstuffs were checked and they proved to be not suitable for the human consumption. The whole quantities were confiscated and then destructed and the supplier was summoned for investigation and applying the necessary procedures against him.
 
 
During the examination of these food items inside the truck by MCI inspection  teams, it had been turned out that most of these items were  perishable  and affected by temperature , samples of some other items had been sent to laboratories to ensure their safety.

The materials that had been confiscated and destroyed included: cheese, cooking oils , margarine , potatoes, long-term milk, powder milk, as well as juices, mayonnaise , water, raspberry jam , beans , chickpeas , different types of chocolate , powder creams.

MCI inspection teams had implemented intensive rounds in Zulfi during the last period on warehouses and shops to ensure the quality of the stored materials and the absence of any violation that may affect the health and safety of the consumer.

MCI would like to emphasize that it will  continue its inspection tours on the markets ,food  warehouses,  and shops , and all Est. , to ensure their regular work, and the absence of fraud  practices,  and manipulation  on consumers , and to stop the exploitation of the demand for purchasing in selling and marketing   corrupted and expired products  .
MCI also stresses that it will not tolerate with the violators and those involved in the practice of fraud and all that put the health and safety of consumers at risk.
