Riyadh will support for the Arab League and Palestine getting the membership of the WT Organization as an observer
Saudi Arabia Participates with a delegation headed by His Excellency Dr. TAWFIG FAWZAN ALRABIAH - Minister of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Saudi negotiating team in the 9th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization , which will take place in Bali, Indonesia during the period from 30/1 until 3/2 1435 , corresponding to December 3 to 6 2013 , where it is scheduled for the conference to discuss the draft agreement to facilitate trade and the outcome of the process of intensive negotiations during the previous months , negotiating topics specialized in the agricultural file , a number of topics related to development , in addition to the approval of joining the Republic of Yemen to the membership of the WT Organization to become a member No. 160 .
The Ministerial Conference, which is the highest authority for decision-making in the WTO, will discuss the most important events and the developments related to WTO activities and its future outlook .
His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Industry will deliver the Kingdom word at the opening of the conference , which will address the Kingdom's support for the multilateral trading system , as well as support and assist to end Al Doha Development Round successfully , which aims primarily to establish the development dimensions of the developing countries and the least developed .
Furthermore, His Excellency will deliver a word congratulating the Yemeni Minister of Commerce and the Yemeni government and people for getting a permanent membership in the WT Organization, as well as the Minister will ask the Member States and the Secretariat of the Organization to provide technical support for the Yemeni government to meet and fulfill its obligations in the framework of the WT Organization , being classified as the least growth and deserve this support .
It is expected that the K.S.A. would announce during the conference also its support of getting the WTO membership for the Arab States League, and the State of Palestine as an observer, in addition to requesting the inclusion of the Arabic language among the official languages of the WTO.
His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Saudi negotiating team would meet on the sidelines of the conference a number of trade ministers of the Member States.
The Minister will also hold, on the sidelines of the conference, coordinating and consultative meetings on the level of Arab Gulf states, Arab and Islamic countries.
It is worth mentioning that the Saudi delegation includes many of the government agencies concerned with the relevant trade policy, where the delegation will take part in the meetings of groups and the clusters negotiating meeting on the sidelines of the 9th Ministerial Conference of the WTO, including the group of newly joined countries (RAMS) which includes in its membership 18 newly joined countries to WTO and K.S.A. is one of them.
