MC: OVER 43,000 COMMODITY PRICE MONITORING TASKS ARE CONDUCTED ACROSS KSA LAST WEEK

01 Nov 2022

Inspection teams from the Ministry of Commerce performed approximately 43,000 commodity price reading tasks last week to monitor product prices during 1,549 field visits to outlets around the Kingdom.

The tasks were part of the routine inspection visits whose number exceeded 16,000, covering outlets, shopping centers, warehouses, and storage facilities. The inspectors double-checked the prices and ensured that stores complied with the Ministry's laws.

The inspectors employ a nationwide electronic system to keep tabs on 280 essential commodities and products. The system helps inspectors keep a close eye on pricing levels and act swiftly when commercial violations have been discovered.

The inspection visits monitor the availability of products and their substitutes in copious quantities, as well as the availability of many suppliers in order to protect the rights of consumers.
