12.6 million Bottles of Water, Yoghurt and Juice Entered the Holy Places for Pilgrims within 5 Days, as announced by MCI

In order to ensure the availability of goods, foodstuffs and basic products for pilgrims  with suitable prices, and as the Ministry of Commerce and Investment endeavors to follow up the provision situation during this pilgrimage season 1438H, the Ministry has already supervised the entry of twelve million six hundred thousand bottles of water, juices and yoghurt to the Holy Places at Mona, Arafat, Muzdalifah within 5 days. This quantity represents 70% of the total foodstuffs available for to pilgrims.

This comes at a time when MCI inspection teams continue their field tours in conjunction with the arrival of pilgrims to the Holy Place of Mona today to spend “Attarwiya” day there.

Meanwhile, MCI inspectors conduct inspection tours round-the-clock to ensure the availability of goods and foodstuffs for pilgrims, also to monitor shops, booths and patrol vehicles. Any sub-standard or expired foodstuffs will be seized and confiscated to ensure the safety and health of the pilgrims. 
 
MCI inspectors supervise the availability of sufficient quantities of foodstuffs and consuming items that would meet the needs of the pilgrims. They make sure as well that there is no shortage of food stocks. MCI inspection teams are also deployed in Makkah and the Holy Places to monitor the sale outlets there.
 
MCI will not hesitate to impose stern penalties against those who put the safety and health of pilgrims at risk. The Ministry calls on the public and all pilgrims to lodge their complaints and observations through the toll free number (1900) or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, via their smart phones.
