A Plant Using Anonymous Raw Materials for Producing Cosmetics was shut down by MCI

MCI has shut down a plant producing cosmetics in Riyadh, after detecting some violations in the production lines, such as using anonymous raw materials, and refilling the cosmetics in rickety and unusable containers. The committee concerned in considering the industrial violations in the Ministry has issued a decree for closing the site and confiscating all seizures, while those responsible were summoned by the Ministry for investigation and taking the legal penalties against them.

The details go back when MCI inspectors have carried out a field inspection on a number of industrial projects in the Second Industrial City, south of Riyadh. The following violations were monitored: No trade data on the final product, poor arrangement and organization, using manual methods for packaging and non-compliance of labors with safety measures.

The violations also included filling "sulfonic acid" in rickety bottles without any trade data. The inspectors noticed that the site floor was worn out and safety equipment was not available, as well as the existence of sewage water and bird waste in the production hall.

MCI would like to emphasize that it will follow-up and inspect all factories and production lines in all regions of the Kingdom, in order to verify the conformity and compliance of production lines with the requested conditions and requirements, and to monitor any abuses or attempts to cheat the consumers.

MCI also stresses that it will not tolerate in imposing the legal penalties on violators and those involved in fraud and adulteration.

MCI calls on all consumers to report their complaints and observations to the Notification Center in the Ministry on 1900.
