The Control Teams Monitored the Foodstuff Storage Sites that were Contrary to the Health Requirements
MCI Control Teams had destroyed more than 20 thousand expired foodstuffs, unfit for the human consumption after the seizure and confiscation of such items in the shops and warehouses in Makkah. They included large quantities of canned cheese and beans which were stored in ways contrary to the health requirements. Those involved were summoned for investigation and taking the legal procedures against them.
MCI had carried out Inspection Rounds on a number of markets and shops in Al ka`akiya area in Makkah, resulted in the seizure and confiscation of more than 10 thousand cans of different types of beans included corrupted broad bean and chickpea due to bad storage, in addition to more than 9 thousand kilogram of corrupted foodstuffs included canned cheese, grape leaves, pickles and grinded cumin.
This comes as a continuation of MCI Inspection Tours on markets, food warehouses and shops, to ensure their regular work, and the absence of manipulation and fraud practices on the consumers, and to stop exploiting the demand for purchase in selling and marketing corrupted and expired products.
