MCI Holds a Workshop on Commercial Treatments and the Private Sectors Awareness of their rights

​The Ministry of Commerce and Investment holds a workshop on "The Local Producers Awareness of the Commercial Treatments" on Tuesday 02.05.2017 AD, in cooperation with the Technical Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), attended by representatives of the private sector.
 
The workshop aims at educating the local producers about the unfair and harmful practices and how to protect their rights through the Consolidated Gulf Law, relevant to Anti-Dumping and Countervailing and Preventive Measures. Many topics, relevant to the producers’ interest and the commercial treatments, will be discussed during the said workshop, most notably (Anti-Dumping in relation to the International agreement, and Preventive Measures, based on the global agreement, also the steps to lodge a complaint, relevant to commercial treatments).
 
H.E. Undersecretary for Foreign Trade, Abdul Rahman Al-Harbi, pointed out that the workshop comes within the framework of the Ministry's interest to provide technical support and assistance to producers, while handling their complaints, relevant to commercial treatments, as well as to focus on the role of the GCC technical secretariat, with regard to the international trade practices, and for completing the investigation procedures. H.E. added that he would hope the competent authorities in the GCC countries to increase the awareness of producers and exporters of this important issue, in order to support fair competition in the global trade.
 
It is worth mentioning that this workshop is the first in a series of workshops to be held later by MCI. It comes within the Ministry's strategic plan to raise awareness of the commercial treatments for producers and exporters.
