The Ministry of Commerce in Tabuk Region Carried out 549 Inspection Tours to verify the Continuity of Providing Food Supplies and Services to the Consumers by the Commercial Establishments

During the last week, MCI inspection teams in Tabuk region followed up the commercial establishments and outlets to ensure the continuity of their work in providing services to consumers, and to verify their commitment to Consumer Protection Regulations.

The inspection tours included groceries, hypermarkets, vegetable and fruit shops, poultry, fish and meat shops, bakeries, and gas stations.

The Ministry of Commerce confirmed that the work in these facilities is proceeding and running naturally and smoothly, in terms of the availability and abundance of goods and foodstuffs, and the flow of food supplies, basic goods and consumables.

The 549 inspection tours included Tabuk, Haqil, Al Bida'a, Duba, Al Wajh, Umluj, Taima, Bir Bin Hermas Center, Halat Ammar, Ashwaq, Shaqri. MCI inspection teams in Tabuk Region responded to 393 reports and complaints, relevant to exaggeration in the prices. Necessary measures had been taken and legal penalties were imposed against the violators.

Notably, the consumers can use the electronic applications for food delivery during the period of curfew. They can order whatever they like of foodstuffs and consumables through these e-applications.

The Ministry of Commerce urges all citizens and residents to use the electronic food delivery applications for ordering all their food supplies and consumables during the period of permitting roaming as well, and not to leave their houses except for the extreme necessity. This is to preserve their health and safety, and this is in compliance with the wise leadership instructions and orders.

The Ministry of Commerce also continues to receive the consumers’ complaints and report round the clock through MCI Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry’s website.
