The Warehouse was Closed after the Labors had been Detected Putting Sayings of the Prophet on the Products

MCI Control Teams had stopped the activity of a warehouse in Hail, after it had been transferred by foreign labors to a small unauthorized plant  producing and marketing different kinds of biscuits and “ma`amoul” in a very primitive way bearing medical misleading allegations, and putting on the outer wrappings  sayings of the Prophet. The owner was summoned for investigation and taking the necessary procedures against him.

The Ministry confiscated more than 100 cartons of biscuits, as well as detected a wide range of wraps and cartons ready for packaging and bearing such misleading phrases, including the marketing of a product that allegedly relieves grief and sadness.

It turned out to the Control Teams that the said plant did not have any approval from the concerned authorities to promote such products, and also it had not got any healthy requirements, where it had been located inside a warehouse which was not prepared for manufacturing and packaging of foodstuffs, besides the labors were marketing and distributing the foodstuffs by   private cars inside and outside the region.

This comes within the framework of the ongoing Control Tours implemented by MCI on shops and markets to ensure their regular work, and the absence of fraud practices on the consumers, and to stop exploiting  the demand for purchase in selling and marketing of any adulterated or counterfeit goods.

The Ministry emphasizes that it will not tolerate in applying the legal penalties on violators and those involved in the practice of fraud, and all that put the health and safety of consumers at risk.

MCI calls on all the consumers to report their complaints and observations to the Control Center in the Ministry on the phone No. 800 124 1616.
