MCI announce its readiness for the second inspection campaign to nationalizes the telecommunications sector

The Ministry of Commerce and Investment announce its readiness and willingness to participate in the second stage of nationalizing the telecom sector through inspection campaigns at the beginning of Thw al-Hijjah month (September the 2end). This action is an implementation of the ministerial decision that limits the work in the telecommunications sector and its accessories to the Saudi citizens only.

The Ministry issued a statement on Monday and stated that the inspection campaigns are efforts of cooperation and coordination between many government agencies: the Ministry of Interior, The Ministry of Labour and Social Development, The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Communications and Information Technology. This collaboration aims to verify the business enterprises committing to the regulations in the sector, to develop appropriate and adequate career opportunities to the national manpower.

In addition to inspecting the shops, the efforts will also focus on combating the commercial concealment stressing that there will be no tolerance in applying the sanctions on those who violate the law, which can be a prison for two years and a million riyal fine whether the violator is a citizen or foreigner, with deportation for the foreigner after the end of his sentence and prevented him from entering the Kingdom for business. In addition to that, there will be an announcement to the violators' names on the media, closing the shop, and preventing the trader from practicing the same business for five years.
 
By participatory work in implementing the nationalization of the telecom sector's decision, the Ministry of Commerce and Investment represented in the SME body is supporting entrepreneurs in this area, to achieve the strategic vision in supporting the private sector.

The nationalization decision aims to create more job opportunities for Saudi citizens both men and women who wish to work in this activity, for the financial returns and job stability. Also to maintaining the professions of this sector for its security, social and economic importance.
