MCI carries out more than 5 thousand Inspection Tours to Verify the Safety of Commodities and the Reality of Promotions during the Holy Month of Ramadan

The Ministry of Commerce and Investment has carried out its second Inspection Campaign, for Ramadan Season, on shops and sales outlets in various regions of the Kingdom, resulted in detecting 252 violations in 5079 shops.

The Ministry's reports showed abundant supply of foodstuffs and consuming goods, which are increasingly demanded during the Holy Month of Ramadan, and the existence of alternatives for each item, thus having more competition and stability of prices. All that are reflected on the interest of consumers.

This Ramadan campaign comes within the Ministry's intensive inspection rounds, aimed at following up the availability of Ramadan commodities in the markets and shops in various regions of the Kingdom, besides verifying the validity of these goods and the absence of any commercial fraud, as well as verifying the reality of sales and promotions offered during this Holy Month.

MCI emphasizes that the inspection tours will be continued all over the Kingdom to verify the commitment of placing the price tags on the offered goods, and to ensure that the price on the item is matching the one with the cashier, besides monitoring the sales and promotions offered during this Holy Month, to ensure the absence of any deception or manipulation on the consumers, and for taking the necessary legal measures against the offenders.

MCI calls on all consumers to lodge their complaints and observations through MCI Consumer Call Center (1900) or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, via their smart phones round the clock.
