MCI, the Abundance of Food Supplies and Commodities Offered to the Pilgrims in Makkah and Medina is Clearly Observed during the Current Hajj Season 1440 H

​​MCI Inspection Teams have Inspected 7,000 Shops within two weeks


The Ministry of Commerce and Investment would like to announce the abundance of sufficient quantities of foodstuffs and other commodities in the markets and commercial centers in Makkah and Madinah, as well as in the roads leading to the two Holy Mosques. This is in conjunction with the arrival of pilgrims to perform Hajj this year 1440 AH.

MCI inspection and control teams carried out proactive inspection tours during the last two weeks, to monitor the situation of food supplies, and to ensure the abundance of foodstuffs and commodities that would meet all the needs of pilgrims and the people in Makkah, Madina and other holy places.

MCI inspection tours covered 7,162 commercial establishments in Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah and Taif, including: stores, shopping centers, gold and jewelry shops, fuel stations and motor tire workshops.

MCI would like to confirm the continuation of implementing field inspection tours, as part of its integrated plan for the current Hajj season, by checking and verifying the availability of sufficient stocks of food supplies and commodities, besides having control on the markets to ensure the quality and validity of the goods offered, and how far they are in conformity with the Saudi standard specifications.
