The Ministry of Commerce has, on the basis of sharing and transparency, invited the interested parties and the public to express their views and comments on the draft amendments to the Executive Regulations for the Law of Private Laboratories until 17/03/1444 H corresponding to 13/10/2022.
The Ministry explained that the amendment is in line with Royal Decree No. (M/31) issued on 6/4/1443 H on the modification of the Law of Private Laboratories, which was issued by Royal Decree No. (M/3) on 8/2/1423 H.
The draft amendments will bring the Executive Regulations in line with the changes made to the Law. The amendments relaxed some of the requirements and conditions for applying for a license and extended the grace period to fulfill the requirements under the Regulations to one and a half years from six months. As a result, an applicant can receive an accreditation certificate from the Saudi Accreditation Center. In addition, tentative licenses have been canceled because licenses issued by pertinent authorities suffice. The names of the authorities in charge of enforcing the provisions of the Law and Regulations have been updated.
The Ministry invited the general public and interested parties to engage and provide feedback on the draft amendments, which can be accessed on the unified online public consultation platform "istitlaa". The platform is dedicated to soliciting public opinion and feedback from government entities at the following link:
