The Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the General Authority for Foreign Trade, Dr. Majid  Abdullah Al-Qasabi, has wrapped up his participation in the G20 Trade and Investment Ministers’ meetings in Jaipur, India, on August 24-25, 2023.

During the two-day event, Al-Qasabi actively participated in sessions that discussed World Trade Organization (WTO) reforms, global trade value chains and resilience, and the integration of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) into global trade. One of the significant sessions included 'Logistics Services for Trade,' attended by G20 Trade and Investment Ministers.

Al-Qasabi utilized the platform to highlight Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to integrate the Saudi economy regionally and globally and the competitive capacity of the Kingdom.

In addition to the sessions, Al-Qasabi held 12 bilateral meetings with his counterparts and senior officials from the G20 countries, focusing on strengthening trade cooperation and economic relations.

The meetings of the G20 Trade and Investment Ministers concentrated on tackling global economic challenges, reforming the World Trade Organization, promoting trade for growth and prosperity, enhancing logistics services in trade, managing global value chains, and incorporating micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises into worldwide trade.

India, this year's host, has chosen the slogan "One Earth, One Family, One Future" to underscore the importance of a united, resilient, and sustainable global economy. The slogan emphasizes the necessity for a more flexible and inclusive trading system and the critical role of global value chains in achieving comprehensive, resilient, and sustainable development following a decade of economic stagnation.
