200 Thousand Packets of Expired Cosmetics Seized by MCI Inspectors in Jeddah

25 Jun 2017
MCI Inspection Teams seized more than 200,000 cans of expired cosmetics at a warehouse in Jeddah during the night of Eid Al Fitr.

In details, MCI inspectors carried out an inspection campaign on the warehouses in Jeddah, as part of the Ministry’s work plan for Eid al-Fitr. During the inspection, large quantities of expired cosmetics were confiscated and destroyed immediately, besides the closure of the warehouse. The owner was summoned by MCI for taking the legal measures, and then to be referred to the competent authorities.

MCI would like to confirm the continuation of its inspection tours on all commercial institutions and warehouses, to ensure their regular work, and the absence of fraud and manipulation practices on consumers, and to eradicate the supply of substandard or counterfeit products in the markets.

MCI calls on all consumers to lodge their complaints and observations through MCI Consumer Call Center (1900) or by the application of a Commercial Violation Report, via their smart phones round the clock.
