In cooperation with the Food & Drug Authority, and after doing the necessary investigation, the inspection teams of the Ministry of Commerce in Makkah Region, seized (4,310,000) masks, stored at a violating Est. in Jeddah, as a kind of monopolization, to be sold later. Notably, the said Est. didn’t disclose these quantities to the Food & Drug Authority previously.
Also it has been turned out that the said establishment has engaged in an unlicensed trade activity, and it does violate the commercial registration, besides the said Est. is not authorized by the Food & Drug Authority.
Accordingly, the quantities were confiscated, and then to be distributed in the markets, the necessary penalties were imposed against the establishment, and the case was referred to the competent authorities for taking the legal measures against the defendant.
The Ministry of Commerce warns all violating importers, who are storing large quantities of monopolistic items, to be sold later, against these illegal practices, and they are requested to supply such quantities into the markets, as per the coordination with the F&D Authority.
The Ministry of Commerce calls on all consumers to report and lodge their complaints against the violating establishments and outlets through MCI Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry’s website.
