Within the Ministry’s plan for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr, MCI inspectors have carried out inspection tours on the shops and outlets selling Zakat al-Fitr items, clothing, Eid accessories and sweets, which are greatly demanded by the consumers during the holy occasion of Eid Al Fitr.
MCI inspection campaign aims to verify the commitment of placing the price tag on the items, also to ensure that the price shown on the item is matching the one with the cashier, in addition to monitoring the promotions offered by markets and shops during this period, and that there are no deception or manipulation on consumers, besides verifying the validity of foodstuffs and consuming items and how far they are suitable for the human consumption, as well as to ensure the commitment with the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law, and to take the legal measures against the violators.
MCI calls on all consumers to lodge their complaints and observations through MCI Consumer Call Center (1900) or by the application of a Commercial Violation Report, via their smart phones.
