The Ministry of Commerce carried out 22,228 visits in the regions of Makkah and Madinah, including the connecting routes, to inspect commercial establishments, sales outlets, ensure product availability and monitor price levels. These inspections were carried out from the 1st to the 25th of Dhu al-Qa'dah, 1444 H, as part of the seasonal plan to serve the pilgrims.
During the field visits, a total of 894 violations were discovered. These violations included 715 instances of non-compliant commercial establishments that failed to adhere to municipal fines and penalties regulations, 92 violations related to activities involving precious metals and gemstones, 71 violations by tire centers, and 16 violations by fuel stations.
The Ministry of Commerce conducts ongoing inspections to monitor a significant number of 12,955 commercial establishments. The Ministry is entrusted with the task of overseeing businesses in Makkah, Madinah, and service centers located along the routes leading to the Holy Sites.
