H.E. Mr. Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al Harbi, Governor of the General Authority for Foreign Trade, has conveyed his thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, for being appointed as Governor of the General Authority for Foreign Trade, as per the Supreme Royal Order issued recently .
H. E. Al Harbi expressed his great thanks, appreciation and gratitude for this precious royal trust. Praying Almighty Allah to help him serve this country in a way that contributes to supporting and promoting foreign trade in the Kingdom.
H.E. Al-Harbi also expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Foreign Trade, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, for his efforts in promoting and supporting the Kingdom's foreign trade and for his endeavor to overcome all difficulties facing it.
It is worth mentioning that the establishment of the General Authority for Foreign Trade aims to enhance the Kingdom's international commercial and investment gains, and to consolidate its position as a regional and global center by negotiating and concluding trade and investment agreements to enable access for non-oil exports to target markets, and to eliminate any obstacles facing foreign trade, besides representing the Kingdom at the International Organization, especially the World Trade Organization, also following up the Kingdom's commitments relevant to international trade agreements and treaties.
The General Authority for Foreign Trade will also contribute to enabling and supporting the private sector to participate effectively in foreign trade, besides protect the national products against harmful practices in relation to international trade, in addition to providing services and facilities to the national products through the Saudi Commercial Attache abroad.
The Board of Directors of the General Authority for Foreign Trade, headed by H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment, includes representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Economy and Planning and Saudi Food & Drug Authority ( SFDA).
