MC Inspection Teams have carried out 432 inspection tours during the past two days to follow up the commitment of the establishments and stores with the precautionary and preventive measures, relevant to confronting Covid-19 pandemic. All that for ensuring the safety of consumers.
MC inspection tours targeted markets, shopping centers, stores and outlets in all regions of the Kingdom.
MC inspectors have released 24 direct violation notices against some establishments in accordance with the regulations relevant to violating the precautionary and preventive measures of covid-19.
The Ministry of Commerce would like to emphasize that all stores should adhere to the health requirements, which stipulate preventing the entry of those not wearing the masks, and which stress the importance of keeping social distances, also providing disinfectants and sterilizers in the necessary places, also taking the temperature for employees and customers at the entrances of malls and commercial centers, as well as disinfecting trolleys and shopping baskets after each use, in addition to disinfecting the relevant facilities and surfaces.
It should be noted that failure to commit with the precautionary and preventive measures of Covid-19 by the establishments and stores will lead to imposing a fine of 10,000 riyals, and the penalty will be doubled in case of repeating such violation, with the closure of the violating facility.
A fine of 5,000 riyals is also to be imposed on each person when there is a gathering of shoppers or workers inside or outside the commercial store, exceeding the numbers stipulated in the precautionary and preventive measures and the relevant regulations.
