The Ministry of Commerce, Al Madinah Branch Carried out 1,320 Inspection Rounds to Monitor the Commodities and Food Stock, 1,028 Reports and Complaints Received

The inspection teams of the Ministry of Commerce, Madihah branch carried out 1320 inspection rounds in Madinah city and its affiliate governorates last week, to verify the availability and abundance of goods and food stock in the markets and outlets. Meanwhile 1028 reports and complaints received about price exaggeration, necessary actions taken and legal penalties were imposed against the violators.

The inspection tours included Madinah city, Yanbu, Al-Ula, Khaybar, Al-Mahd, Wadi Al Fare’a, Al-Hanakiyah, Badr, Al-Suwaidra, Al-Eis. Yanbu Al Nakhil, Al Misaijeed, Al Fraish, Al Salsala, and Al Yatemah.

The aim of the Ministry of Commerce tours is to intensify the control and inspection on commodities, food products, consumables warehouses and outlets, as well as meat and vegetable stores, bakeries and fuel stations.

The Ministry’s inspectors confirmed the availability of the necessary food supplies and commodities, assuring as well that there is sufficient food stock to meet the market need, besides price stability.

The Ministry of Commerce calls on all the consumers to report and lodge their complaints against the violating establishments and outlets through the Ministry’s Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry's official website.
