The Ministry of Commerce has announced a significant 31% increase in commercial registers related to the drying, packaging, and production of date products in Medina as of the third quarter of 2023. This rise is notable, with commercial registrations in this sector reaching 145 registers, up from 110 in the same period last year.
In a strategic move to boost the date industry in Medina, the Public Investment Fund has launched 'Medina Heritage.' This company is set to significantly enhance the quality and production capacity of Alajwa dates in the region, marking a step forward in the development of Saudi Arabia's food and agriculture sector. This effort aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to increase the sector's contribution to the GDP, enrich local content, and diversify the Kingdom's income sources.
