Concurrent with the return of all economic and commercial activities, MC inspection teams start today morning the implementation of inspection tours to control the prices of goods at the commercial establishments in all regions of the Kingdom, also to follow up the commitment of wholesale and retail stores regarding the implementation of preventive protocols, approved by the concerned authorities to address the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

The Ministry's tours targeted hypermarkets, catering & luxury stores, wholesale and retail markets, outlets selling medical devices, pharmacies, building material stores and gas stations.

During these inspection tours, MC inspectors monitor the prices of commodities directly through the Electronic Price Monitoring System, through which direct monitoring of the prices of more than 217 commodities can be done instantly, besides comparing such prices with the neighboring countries. Meanwhile, instant fines are imposed in the event of unjustified excessive prices of goods and products.

The Ministry of Commerce urges all consumers to lodge their complaints and reports round the clock through MC Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry’s Website.
