More than 400 thousand Counterfeit Products and Stickers in Violation of Standard Specifications Seized by MCI

MCI Inspection Teams conducted a number of tours on Commercial Centers in Jeddah, during the Holy Month of Ramadan, resulted in the closure of a warehouse for lack of the Commercial Registration, as well as the seizure of more than 77 thousand fake products, bearing forged trademarks, in violation of the approved Saudi Standard Specifications, besides the confiscation of more than 400 thousand counterfeit stickers, bearing famous trademarks.

For more details, MCI inspectors seized 10,000 products, including non-conforming charging cable, as well as more than 14 thousand head charger, in violation of standard specification, in addition to 43 thousand watches and glasses, bearing forged and fake trademarks, also more than 10,000 packages of oil, bearing medical claims and ready for sale.

During the inspection tour, a warehouse was shut down as well for lack of a Commercial Registration and an Industrial License. The owners were summoned by MCI for taking the legal procedures and to be referred to the competent authority. 

MCI would like to emphasize the continuation of its inspection rounds on all commercial institutions and warehouses, to ensure their regular work, and the absence of fraudulent practices on consumers, and to eradicate the supply of substandard and fake products in the market.
