MCI Undersecretary for Foreign Trade Discusses Cooperation Opportunities & Trade Exchange Development with US Trade Assistant Undersecretary

MCI Undersecretary for Foreign Trade, Mr. Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al Harbi, discussed with Mr. Ian Steve, Assistant Undersecretary of the US Department of Commerce for Industrialization and his accompanying delegation in Riyadh, the opportunities for joint cooperation and the development of trade and investment in several fields.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the General Authority for Investment, the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises, King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy and the Secretary General of the Council of Saudi Chambers.

The meeting referred to the importance of the United States of America as an important trading partner to the Kingdom. The meeting also discussed the preparations for the sixth meeting of the Saudi-American Trade and Investment Council (TIFA) and the development of cooperation opportunities in various fields, as well as the importance of private sector contribution to the development of trade and investment between the two countries.

The US official and his delegation expressed their desire to develop cooperation between the two countries, saying that the Kingdom is considered an ally and a strategic partner of the United States of America in all fields.

Notably, the volume of trade exchange between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America reached SR 142 billion riyals during 2016 AD.
