The inspection teams of the Ministry of Commerce, Najran branch, carried out 281 inspection tours to verify the availability and abundance of goods and food stock in the markets and outlets. Meanwhile, 113 complaints had been received about exaggeration in the prices, necessary action had been taken and legal penalties had been imposed on the violators.
The inspection tours included the city of Najran, Sharurah, Habbouna, Khabbash, Thar, Al-Hussainiya, Sultana, Yadmah, Al-Khaleda, Badr Al-Janoub, Al-Khaniq, Muhammadiyah, and Bir Askar.
The inspection tours targeted the stores and warehouses of commodities, food products, consumables, outlets and petrol stations.
The Ministry’s inspectors confirmed the availability of basic food supplies and commodities, and they ensured that there is sufficient stock to meet the market need, besides price stability.
The Ministry of Commerce calls on the consumers to report and lodge their complaints against the violating establishments and outlets through the Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry’s official website.
