The Ministry of Commerce has developed a documentary about Imam Muhammad bin Saud's role in protecting trade caravan routes three centuries ago and making Dariya and its markets safe and secure so that business could grow and thrive.
The document commemorates the occasion of Founding Day.
The film depicted the grave security, economic and social risks which caravan traders had to face when traveling along trade routes and exposing their goods to looting and themselves to death. This situation remained unchanged until Imam Muhammad bin Saudi came along and unified the state, restoring stability to the Arabian Peninsula and making the trade routes safer again.
The documentary marks the Kingdom's celebration of Founding Day and the foundation of the first Saudi state by Imam Muhammad bin Saud who ruled it from Dariya in mid-1139 H corresponding to 22 February 1727.
