The Ministry of Commerce carried out 6,319 field visits to markets and shopping centers across all regions of the Kingdom to verify their compliance with the regulations and conditions of offers and discounts for the 95th National Day.
The Ministry’s inspection teams verified the discount licenses, their display to consumers, adherence to the authorized genuine discounts and offers, discount rates, price tags or electronic price readers showing the price before and after the discount, and clear disclosure of exchange and return policies.
The Ministry calls on consumers to verify the validity and legitimacy of discounts and commercial offers by scanning the “barcode” shown on the license to review all data related to the discounts, which include the “type and rate of discounts, their duration, as well as the establishment’s information.”
