The inspection teams of the Ministry of Commerce are conducting monitoring tours of outlets selling school supplies, including bookstores and stationery shops, across various regions of the Kingdom during the current week, in conjunction with the approaching start of the new school year.
The visits aim to verify the availability of school products and supplies and their alternatives; the presence of price tags or electronic display of product prices; ensuring no discrepancy between shelf prices and those recorded at checkout devices; confirming that product information is clearly written in Arabic; ensuring the compliance of discounts, promotional offers, and competitions with regulations; and verifying the adherence of school supply outlets to the Ministry’s regulations, with legal penalties applied to violators.
