 MCI Implements a Comprehensive Inspection Campaign on Concealers in the Building & Construction Field

As MCI continues its inspection campaign to reveal the violators of Anti-Commercial Concealment Law, an intensive inspection campaign on more than 2000 commercial institutions has been implemented by MCI, to reveal the concealers in the building and construction sector in various regions of the Kingdom. The owners of 126 institutions have been summoned by the Ministry for investigation and to be heard, since the commercial concealment is suspected after detecting a number of evidence and documents. This is in preparation for referring such cases to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution, and then to be referred to the Bureau of Grievances to issue the final judgment.
 
MCI pointed out that the judicial control officers have detected more than 170 violations related to Commercial Registration during the inspection campaign on building materials stores, also 67 sites in violation were shut down, besides a number of illegal labors were detected in some shops. All the offenders were referred to the competent authorities for taking the necessary legal measures against them.
 
MCI had announced, on the first of last January, the implementation of inspection campaigns on the commercial concealers in various business activities, part of such campaigns was on gold and jewelry sector, where stern measures were taken against the violators of the Anti-Commercial Concealment Law. The penalties may reach to two years imprisonment and a fine of SR one million against every violator, and deporting the non-Saudis from the Kingdom. MCI has been implementing defamation against the violators in the local newspapers periodically at their own expense, in addition to other penalties including the closure and liquidation of the business, also writing off the commercial registration, as well as the prohibition of practicing the same commercial activity for up to five years.
 
MCI would like to emphasize that it will continue its inspection campaigns on various business activities in the coming days, indicating its goal to reduce the phenomenon of commercial concealment and to create a regular and free of irregularities environment,   and to enable the citizens of doing business safely. MCI would like to warn all companies, establishments and individuals against cooperation with the violators of Saudi Rules & Regulations, otherwise they will be legally accountable and liable to fines and penalties.
 
MCI would like you to report about any case of commercial concealment, if the evidence is found, through the toll free number 1900, or through the application of a Commercial Notification, where a reward will be granted to the collaborators that may reach up to 30% of the value of the adjudged fines after collection.
